Te Deum! [Apr. 17th, 2004|05:37 am]
Miss Von Trapp
[Mood |boredbored]
[Music |The Divine Comedy : The Certainty of Chance]

I really ought to descend to the pit...

I got home from work at 3:30am this morning (early leave) and have been sat here ever since listening to The Divine Comedy again ('Absent Friends' and 'A Secret History'), drinking Earl Grey and smoking cigarettes...

I'm tediously bored, but not remotely tired.

Which is irritating to say the least, as I want to get up later today, potter about doing some tidying (might go outside to see if my plants are still alive!), then go out for an evening of drink and debauchery-via-innuendo at Black Catz.

Yes, tonight is another 'goff nite', and I intend to be resplendant in long black dress with frilly cuffs, new lipring to show off, and pale vampy makeup...

Might go to Jui-ehh!!'s first for a 'makeup party'; dress Matt Black up like a girly and take photographs...if she'll allow me to participate;)

And I shall begin the evening with a cheap bottle of red plonk and get incredibly smashed indeed...

So I suppose I should retire to my bedchamber. Snoopy and Bagpuss await me with tales of their daily escapades:

*whispers*

"They're alive, you know, when they think I can't see them they get out of my bed and make a terrible mess of my room!!"

Divine Comedy - Tonight We Fly

Tonight we fly
Over the houses
The streets and the trees
Over the dogs down below
They'll bark at our shadows
As we float by on the breeze

Tonight we fly
Over the chimney tops
Skylights and slates -
Looking into all your lives
And wondering why
Happiness is so hard to find

Over the doctor, over the soldier
Over the farmer, over the poacher
Over the preacher, over the gambler
Over the teacher, over the rambler
Over the lawyer, over the dancer
Over the voyeur, over the builder and the destroyer,
Over the hills and far away

Tonight we fly
Over the mountains
The beach and the sea
Over the friends that we've known
And those that we now know
And those who we've yet to meet

And when we die
Oh, will we be
That disappointed
Or sad
If heaven doesn't exist
What will we have missed
This life is the best we've ever had!

It's not been out of my cd player, and now I've gone and made mp3 playlists so that when my cd is elsewhere I can still listen!!

I posted a lengthy review on the previous post to this, and crossposted it in 'refinement' lol!!

Believe me, it was well worth the wait, and now my mother wants a copy as well...

The chocolate survived the trip, but upon arrival, it didn't survive 24 hours out of the bag *grin*

See you friday:))

Divine!

Finally somebody else who likes the Divine Comedy *hugs*

The last release I heard (and the only thing of theirs I have) was "Love what you do", has there been anything since that?

Re: Divine!

Love What You Do was a single release off 'Regeneration' in 2001.

'Absent Friends' is the latest album since then and well worth the wait, but I do hope you have heard all the stuff before the 'Regeneration' album...it's far far superior;)
