Friday : No Humping or Loose Shunting
(as seen on the side of a goods wagon whilst travelling by train)

Stayed up all night on Thursday, despite attempting to sleep - only managed an hour and a half till 9am...got the train at 10:13am...

Journey up was hellish - 9 hours or so, Plymouth to York; where I sat with a 75 yr old woman and a 56ish yr old man, and discussed several things including politics, coalmining (in detail), trips in the 1940s to Lands End, why I have a hole in my face (lipring) etc etc. Changed at York for Middlesborough with 12 mins to make the connection, then Middlesborough to Whitby (another 12 mins) where I sat with a couple of people and chatted.

Met matthewnorth, elves_uk and Dr. Poggs at the station...elves walked me up to where I was staying (though we got lost on the way), helped me with my corset, and I unpacked; or rather, emptied everything out onto my bed and left the room in a mess!

We walked up to their flat, where I met elves_uk's other half: elfee and _lois_, had a much needed cup of tea and then went on to the Spa.

Handed in my ticket, got the wristband and wandered about looking at stalls, people in costumes and whatnot... Had a drink and a very entertaining evening indeed; highlights including Lainey, Lois and I sitting in the Pink Room and behaving in a coarse and bawdy fashion when some random guy came over and was sleazy as hell... I shall henceforth be known unto all as the "Head of Corporate Entertainment" lol!!

"You call that a smack?? Let me show you..." and such-like...

Zombina and The Skeletones were great, didn't listen to the next group (Earth Loop Recall) as we were busy wandering around collecting appreciative looks... _lois_ had laced me into my corset properly - only to find that I now need to buy a new one as my 28" corset does up ALL THE WAY at the back...need a 26" - I've lost so much weight!! RAR!!

The Damned were 'damned good' - and I stayed out in the Spa until nearly 2am, when I managed successfully to find my own way home in the dark, walked part of the way down to town with a gaggle of 16-18 yr olds who were out on the rob (non-goth girlies) - sporting traffic cones, a garden gnome, a bunch of tulips and a naked postman pat doll. Oh dear!! Lost them at a kebab shop along the way and crawled back up to my room in a semi-drunken haze...

Saturday - On A Mission

Woke up at 6:30am, having been awake 29 hours the day before and successfully managed to reverse my sleep pattern. Quick burst of morning kid's tv, strong coffee and a shower, and I was ready to face the day.

First off, got dressed up in my 1950's net skirt, corset and bra, ripped fishnets and heels - then dragged myself into town - spot of window shopping, then went up to see elves_uk and co. We went up to the Spa to look at the stalls - wasn't tempted by any shopping in particular, and then over to the Metropole to have a dig through the Bring and Buy stalls... Was looking for a Vollers 26" but couldn't find one, so will have to look in Westward Bound this week instead.

After this, we all piled into _lois_'s car and went to Robin Hood's Bay.

The bay was beautiful...a very steep walk down to the village, and then a long stretch of rocky/sandy coastline - very like Cornwall really...so I collected rocks and washed glass, elves_uk built Stonehenge and we took photos of his arse as he knelt in the sand lol!! Not forgetting the Statue of Liberty pose on a rock either...

I got quite sunburnt across my chest, as I'd forgotten to put on the factor 60 - and got a migraine even though I'd drunk plenty of water and was wearing shades.

I am a nightworker. I am unnacustomed to such heat/light!!

We had lunch in a very nice vegetarian restaurant-cum-secondhand bookshop; a big yummy vegeburger with salad, which was hard going in corsetry, and I had no room for the cinnamon spiced crumble after that elves and lois seemed to be able to put away with no problem. Random tourist took our photos, then I buried my nose in old books for 20 mins before we crawled back up the hill to the car...

Got back to Whitby at about 3pm, went to look at the stalls in the Spa again (was very tempted by some black falls, but I prefer to show off my own hair really!!) and found I had a voicemail from scar_let...so went up to the Met to meet up with him at 5pm.

Whilst sat there waiting I chatted to a guy with a gorgeous black and white husky...and hair to match...(could have happily taken both home!). Then scar_let arrived and we walked back down through town and stopped off at the Angel for a beer (the Elsinore was full). Having done this we walked via mine so I could change my heels for a more comfortable pair of docs and walked back along the seafront and up a lot of steps to meet divine_debris up by the Met to get some food.

Whitby town and promenade-y bit is a bit like a cross between Looe in Cornwall (the shops)...and the top sort of reminds me of Torquay or Eastbourne. Peculiar mix - I get the photos back on Friday, so you'll see what I mean!

The chinese restaurant was closed, so we walked into town (I've done a lot of walking this weekend), and divine_debris got some chips, whilst I got chav-aggro in the chipshop lol!! Went back to the courtyard where I was staying to eat them in private - little picnic benches under the balconies and surrounded by plant pots which I was tempted to weed out and plant with the pansies etc left around waiting to go in...

At about 7pm, after chatting/eating for a bit, we walked (again) all the way back up to the Spa where divine_debris and scar_let went home to get changed for the evening and I went in to have a beer and a wander about before the evening's gigs started.

Bands this evening were Libitina, The Dream Disciples and The Mission...

I have two lingering memories of the support acts (I wasn't paying too much attention really, as I'd met up again with scar_let and divine_debris) - one was that they bored me a little and could have done with a drummer, the other was of a GOD AWFUL cover of 'Common People' by Pulp - renamed in a much-mistaken comedy moment to 'Gothic People'...

*cringes*

The Mission, on the other hand, were rather good - despite my being a snotty Sisters fan...though I didn't spot any pyramids for Tower of Strength...which was saved for the second encore...

At which point, I needed another drink!!

Saw a lot of Cap'n Jacks, and recieved a few compliments from one of them...cue requisite wonky mizzen mast/buxom wench jokes... Met filthyrikky and his mates...

Then met up with J. and L. again to dance/sit the rest of the evening out till about 2am. Saw a woman in a fantastically huge restoration period dress...looked a bit like the top of a curtain, or one of those knitted things that covers loo rolls in old ladies houses...but was very impressive nonetheless...

Staggered home with J. and L., then they left and I hauled myself up to my room to bed again...cup of tea, houdini-routine with corsetry and falling asleep after sending random drunken texts to friends...

Also needed to buy superglue asap for my ancient old buckle boots, as the sole had come away from the shoe all the way round and up to the heel!!

Sunday - Teh Abbeh, Footy and More...

Woke up hungover, again, at 7am. This time, as it was SO hot and sunny, I'd run out of clothes to wear... I'd packed two high-collar/longsleeved floor sweepers, and were unsuitable due to the weather!!

So I went out in ripped fishnets, corset, fangs and nightie...the burgundy satin/lace one that I'd only brought to sleep in...

Walked up to elves_uk's and co. and had some very very yummy pancakes cooked by elfee from an american recipe...and the frightening experience of seeing Pogg's pyjamas and a very stodgy bowl of porridge...

Left at about 11am to do some shopping, and called into a charity shop on the way into town, where I found a decent black chiffon skirt and floaty sleeved top to wear with corset instead...and ordered the papers from the shop opposite.

Went home, changed into new stuff and walked up to the Abbey.

Whoever tells you that the 199ish steps up to the Abbey are hard work is an utter liar!! I walked up in heels (I'd bought some superglue and mended them) and my corsetry in under 5 mins...brisk pace...with no problem at all. Wasn't even out of breath when I got to the top!!

Seems the "broken lift-10min fag break-88 steps down and 88 back up at work on the hour, every hour" dash has put me in good stead for climbing lolol!!

Posed for a few tourist's photos at the top, and had them take a few of me with my camera...then looked round St. Mary's Churchyard and up to the Abbey itself.

I must be getting old, because I bought postcards and a tea-towel in the gift-shop, frowned at the entry fee and took photos from outside, over a wall behind the back.

This is a bad sign...but I was thinking of 'useful' presents, and ones which would last as items as well as memory...rather than clothing which would fall apart and foodstuffs which I would eat and forget...

Though I must admit to a chocolate coffin (again, I shall keep it) and three sticks of rock which SHALL be eaten - but only because I can keep the label;)

I also bought a pretty silver/amethyst ring (I love amethyst) and a new ankh from a stall...and found the Burberry Factory Shop, so wittily took a photo of some goths dressed in victorian period clothing standing in the doorway.. CHAVS BEWARE!! WE SHALL INFILTRATE AND RULE!!

By this time, it was about 2pm, so I dropped off my haul of retail therapy in my room, and got distracted by the Elsinore pub in search of liquid refreshment...

30 minutes of kitty-tickling later (someone had a kitty on a lead) and a nice pint of bitter, and I crawled wearily/giddily up the hill toward the Met and then found my way to the football ground for kickoff at 3pm...

The match went rather well all things considered...two lost balls over the high wire fence into a yard, never to be seen again...and another over a fence which had to be retrieved... Oh, and some poor guy got caught in the face and there was blood all over - think he split his lip...

filthyrikky had, apparently, been in training for a week...he played very well I thought, as did the other team-members... (apt. from that atrocious penalty shot wasted over the bar lol!!). Didn't get *too* thrashed... I think the final score was 3-1 or 3-0... Goths vs Locals= Purple against blue respectively...

Learnt that 'jasper' not only means wasp, but also means breasts, and that it isn't a local plymouth word as I had believed... Blame my lime and soda...for which I have the cheapest price yet, at only 10p against the Hogsheads 25p and the B-bars 40p... (I should make this a regional survey lol!!)

Match was all over bar the bar by 5ish, and I walked down the hill with a bunch of lovely people who then bought me a beer in the Elsinore.

Went back to my room at 6pm to give myself half-an-hour unlaced with a cup of tea...then got all tarted up again with fresh makeup applied to go to Laughtons for the 80's night.

This was hysterical fun - again, met elves_uk, elfee and _lois_ and a few other people I'd chatted to over the weekend... It was like a school disco of yore...even skipping... Was tempted, but wasn't in suitable shoes...otherwise I'd have done the old rhymes and stuff... Even had the conga for 'Locomotion'...

Went screaming down the stairs to reach the dancefloor for The Bolshoi (Away!) (fling arms wildly)...and danced to loads of schtuf...

Met redshira finally, and she was utterly utterly lovely; as were the spray fans with water inside - gawd, Laughtons was HOT HOT HOT!!!

And then there were the comedy nuns...

Two women dressed in pvc nuns outfits, being seriously lame with whips that wouldn't have lasted me an evening... So I offered to show them how to use them properly...

*rolls eyes*

The bloke they were whipping was only getting crappy little flicks from them...so I took the whip, put him in 'the position' and gave him such a whack that he spannered his arms out and almost knocked over a drink, which was empty thankfully!!

So they decided to whip me. Yawn!! I 'assumed the position' and stood there looking thoroughly bored whilst they did what they thought was their worst - I've recieved fiercer welts/whacks as a cursory entry thwack entering the regular Westward Bound fetish nights after handing in my ticket!!

Seriously lame, and didn't even leave a mark!!

Then I took the whip off her (I don't do sub as a rule anyway) and said it was her turn. She utterly backed down and started making small talk, complimenting my makeup etc etc etc... HAHAHAHAH!!

A note on my behaviour: I may be quite *playful* and extremely flirtatious to people I meet, but I am NOT a hussy/slut. I tease, I whip, I bite, and I *play* sometimes (but VERY rarely)...which is where it stops.

Play is fine - so long as it is understood to be such, in a fetish party-context generally - and should be in good fun and neither of the two people having more permanent designs on the other... But *play* is simply PLAY - a bit of mutual fumbling/slap and tickle and mostly/all tease; and will only happen whilst I remain SINGLE.

Matters of the bedroom involving ANY form of oral or penetrative sex DO NOT count as *play*. This is reserved STRICTLY for monogamous (potentially long term) serious relationship only (which is why I can only count 4/5 from age 18-30). This is VERY important to me and in some ways, makes me rather prudish, shy and victorian about it all!!

Met up with mister_ed again and was given a cd of his band (Screaming Banshee Aircrew), which I will listen to and review later in the forums...and then finally left Laughtons at about half-twelve, and went up to the Abbey in the dark.

It was very dark indeed, though I could see perfectly well (thankyou Royal Mail!)...but there wasn't enough light to take Abbey photos, so we went back to St. Mary's Churchyard to take photos there. The light from the lantern at the top of the steps produced a beautiful sepiatone effect, and I'll be very interested indeed to see elves_uk's piccies when he transfers them...

Laid out flat on the stones for a bit, then went back down the hill, where we said our soppy goodbyes and I went to bed.

About 2am, at the end of a PERFECT weekend.

Once again, wrestled drunkenly with the corsetry before taking tea and packing...fell asleep between 4 and 6am...

There was a terrific thunderstorm with lightning across the bay, and the rain came down at last... After three days of searing heat, the electricity in the air before the storm made my feet and knees hurt SO MUCH that I couldn't sleep for the pain I was in...

Felt much better once the rain came down!!

Monday - Fade To Grey

Woke up at 6:30am, finished packing, and put on a long dress and docs for travelling comfortably...left my room at about 7:30 and posted the keys through the letterbox of the Shepherd's Purse shop as no-one was about to hand them to...

Stopped via a newsagent along the way to the station, picking up a Whitby plate and three sticks of rock...then sat at the station in sunglasses waiting for the train...

Met with a couple of chaps (one from Bristol, one from Bournemouth) who I sat and talked with as far as Middlesborough (MINT SAUCE!!), then travelled with the latter to York chatting along the way about grammar, literacy and whatnot, where I got the train back to Plymouth.

Gawd, that train was overcrowded...was stuck in a window seat with no table and no room to move all the way back...fell asleep for 2 hours (hope I didn't snore/dribble) and finally arrived in this miserable shithole at about 7:30pm.

Tired, nay, utterly exhausted to the point of inability to speak coherently - as if drunk...

Went to bed at 9pm and slept right through till 10am this morning...

Back to work tonight, slightly sunburnt, still sort of tired...but very very happy indeed...

I had a fantastic weekend...which was all the more perfect for meeting all my friends: elves_uk, elfee, _lois_, scar_let, divine_debris, Poggsy, redshira, filthyrikky and entourage, matthewnorth, and countless others who I met but I can't quite remember the names of but who were just as lovely...

*BIG BIG HUGS TO YOU ALL*

SEE YOU IN OCTOBER - if not sooner!!!!

(and I'll get the incriminating evidence from the photo labs on Friday bwahahaha!!!)

*nostalgic sigh*

Goth-tastic

Hey!! scar_let and I had the best time meeting up with you in Whitby (a real post to follow not to mention pictures!) Sorry we didn't get a chance to meet up again on Sunday. We ended up jaunting off to Scarborough, getting back late and then crashing until Sexy Sunday (we're getting old...well at least I am that is). I'm glad to hear that you had a lovely time amid the glamour of the event...hope our pictures come out. Just as a warning I am notoriously hideous in photos so you might come across a bit of a scare when you pick up your pics! You've been warned!! :)

Hope we'll get to plan some London fun in June!!

Re: Goth-tastic

It was utterly fantastic to meet up with you both too!!

I hope you enjoyed Scarborough - don't worry about not meeting up, as I had to do the touristy-shopping-abbey thing in the end anyway, and I did indeed have a very lovely (if not 'danger-of-heat-exhaustion') time:))

YOU'RE getting old?? I bought a TEA TOWEL!!!

(and you CANNOT be hideous in photos lol...you're far too gorgeous irl as it is...it's always hit or miss as to whether I come out looking awful with a double chin anyway...fingers itch for photoshop *grin*)

London in June would be great - don't know quite what I'm doing yet, but will let you both know:))

*big hugs back atcha*

You look great in the pictures taken on my camera from Saturday night! (I, however, look like I was hit with a stun gun.) I'll get them online soon, let me know if you want actual prints of any of them.

It was great to finally meet you!

I hope you make a tradition of going to Whitby...do it for us poor American saps who won't get to go every year!

I can't wait to see them...and, yes, I might well require copies;)

*phasers set to stun* hehe...

Lovely to meet you too, and, for you 'poor american saps' I shall do it as often as is humanly possible from hereon!!

Seems quite wise to me. Not prudish at all. I am yet to see a prude wield a whip with such finesse that you described in your post :P.

Blimey, sounds like you and the rest had a bloody good weekend. I dropped into it at random points, because I knew it would sound a tad surreal, and it did! You should try it, if you blank your memory completely.

Can't beat the 80s.

Yes, the bloody birds - spring is here.

I saw a great pic in a thread, somewhere, like one month ago, and I couldn't find it anymore. Since I wanted to have it (or its clone) ready for your return, I've been forced to make a new one myself, lol. Here's the artwork:

LOL. Should be very useful in the future, hehe. You didn't need it this time. :) Just kidding, of course.

So I'm going to read this novel, but, since I may fall asleep before the end, I'm sending you hugs already! Welcome back (in LJ-land, I mean)! :D

Actually, the pic I had found was a man threatening to stab someone in the back... on this one, it's not really "lj-cut or die!", it's more like "die!", LOL.

I read this entry yesterday. I fell asleep a couple of times, but it was not your fault: I was very tired. It was a very good reading. I love the English (self-depreciating) humour (for example, the super-glued heels). The French (and the Americans) usually take themselves too seriously, and therefore they don't understand my humour at all.

By the way, is it "self-depreciating" or "self-deprecating"? In French, it's called "autodérision".

The picture is like, "LJ-CUT OR DIE! Take that! Err, what? You've made an lj-cut? Oops. Sorry, man, for the stabbing and all. I'm going to wash the blood from the floor, if you want... HEY! DON'T FAINT!"

I saw the guy with the husky as well, what an absolutely beautiful animal! (The husky - I didn't register much about the bloke on the other end of the lead, though I'm sure he was also spectacular) The kitty-on-a-string climbed up my skirt, probably because it smelt of other cats.

Glad you had a good time!

I had a great time:)

Grammar, literacy. whatnot & the price of lamb

The chap from Bournemouth being me: Captain M (fellow from Bristol was Arkady). Thanks for the pleasure of your company. I greatly enjoyed our setting the world to rights regarding grammar, literacy and whatnot. However, I can't quite remember what all the whatnot was, as my head is still spinning madly and inanely from all the Whitby excesses. Sorry to hear the rest of your journey was a bit of a drag. I'm very impressed by your website, You're right: I really must get round to setting up a LiveJournal. See you in October.

Re: Grammar, literacy. whatnot & the price of lamb

*waves*

'Twas fun conversation, which I am thankful for; the rest of the journey was interminably dull!!

My head is utterly fried to a crisp - I think I had about 4 hours sleep each night, if that, but only two on the monday morning, though I dozed on the train then slept 10pm to 10am last night/today, plus a catnap this evening... And I'm still not fully recovered. Probably heatstroke:/ Blah!

I'm rather bored by my website to be honest, livejournal is much more fun... Get yourself one lol!!
