WORD OF THE DAY
Information provided by Petersons.com

ambiguous

DEFINITION: (adjective) having two or more possible meanings.
EXAMPLE: The phrase, 'Let's table that discussion' is ambiguous; some think it means, 'Let's discuss it now,' while others think it means, 'Let's save it for later.'
SYNONYMS: questionable, unclear, vague

Now there's a phrase I've NEVER heard before!!!

Table-ing??? *bemused*

................................................

SELF-PROCLAIMED MESSY BINT

Does anyone know the telephone number of those two women off the telly who come round with rubber gloves on and tidy up your house for you? You know the show, where they go in and 'tch tch' at the state of the place before getting to work making it look like a show-home??

The programme in question is 'How Clean is Your House?' and I NEED THOSE LADIES!!

My room is a total tip - my organisation skills are something to be wondered at; I started a major 'sort-out' last week with good intentions and a grand plan to empty all boxes onto the floor and then have a box for storage, a box for 'putting out/display', a box for 'car boot' and a bin bag (or three) for the dustmen.

I only got as far as emptying all the boxes out on the floor - that was a week ago and no progress has been made.

..................................

TIFFIN AL FRESCO

I suppose I'd better give the tidying a go before the weekend - the 'POSH PICNIC' seems to be going ahead - I suggest everyone meet at mine at about 11:30am so we can all go together??

bringmestars and missbumpkin both know where I live and perhaps can collect/organise the rest to meet here too... wildgift93 has offered to make scones, I shall be providing victoria sponge, cloth, lashings of ginger beer and a few other things...

We absolutely MUST have cucumber sandwiches - white bread with the crust cut orf... Any further suggestions as to what we should pack in our hamper/carrier bags will be greatly appreciated;)

(this doesn't give you scope to be rude - I know how your filthy brains work...same as mine hehe!)

Ok, need coffee - going to go and stare nonchalantly at the rubble that is my room before procrastinating, telling myself I can do it on Sunday and getting back into bed to read Harry Potter;)

*grin*

........................

I APPEAR TO BE KALI

Oh! Most appropriate!!

I'm looking forward to Saturday ;)
What do you want me to bring?

Bugger the tidying up, get snuggled under that duvet - it's way too cold to be anywhere else today.

I have retired to my room to read the fifth Potter book - so far I'm halfway through *grin*

Could you be in charge of cucumber sandwiches? And anything else you fancy eating really - perhaps a quiche or something.

I'm going to Safeway on the Friday armed with my cheque book...

*hugs back*

The POSH PICNIC will be this coming Saturday with a 12 o'clock start...though I think it best/easiest that we meet at mine at 11ish - get it all prepared...

What I am basically planning is that we show up to the PUNX PICNIC (on the Hoe, by Smeatons Tower), looking all gothy-posh with posh food for our own 'civilised' take on the proceedings at 12 with the rest of them.

Pasties in Co-Op carrier bags are BANNED!!

If it's raining then we head to the Nowhere and spread the tablecloth on the table lol!! There are punk picnic bands in the evening too - I think that's at Tramps, and I might well go there after:)

Well as a posh bird I can add a few posh suggestions darling... shortbread or ginger biscuits are a must, as is ice tea for the modern twist.

Sounds like such a fun idea! :D xxx

Posh-Suburban

I quite wish I could hop a plane and live in your world. I'd get the accent in no time. I'm a chameleon, (though probably a horrible speller), by nature and I'd be wonderfully posh had I the chance. Quite wish to attend your picnic. Yet I'm stuck in my own horrid country, (which I have nothing to do with and do not approve of by the way....) with no way to escape it - yet divorce might be the easiest way... Ah well, I procrastinate as much as you. Not to mention the fact that I fear change. But I have read all of the Harry Potter books. A fact that previous flatmate had shamed me for. Though I valued the opinion, I could not stop. I was only upset when there were no more to read. I've settled on PS2 Games at the moment. Quite fun. Or at least the Chamber of Secrets is. Must get the latest though. More sleep I don't need.
Babbled long enough for now. Speak to you soon Liz,
Missy

I actually used my real name, Melissa. And the favourite colour was black. My online name's result was almost identical to yours. Cool as that was, I liked the superpower better on this one.
