Tired, but at least I can relax this evening... [Nov. 9th, 2003|06:40 pm]

Oh god what a weekend...

Went to Jui-ehh!!!'s at about six o'clock yesterday...we had a glass of red wine, and then went down to the Nowhere for a few drinks and a game of pool before going to the cinema...

...we never made it to the cinema...three beers later, and a couple of games lost by me to a girl who was just as bad as I was (Jui-ehh!!! and I had no idea of the rules either except for the TOTAL basics...)...we were both somewhat drunk and wandered off with friends to 'The Loft'.

What a dire night that was...really fuck-awful rock night...with seriously crap music and equally dull occupants...let's face it, I am stuck in a city full of 'locals'...

...so I sat and drank and smoked all night, spent some time talking to a guy who is a friend of 'Stainless' (online nick of one of my rl mates)...discussing films and art project stuff and generally bemoaning how crap the local club/music was...whilst Jui-ehh!!! deserted me...apparently her mate 'Podge' was buying her drinks, and she was extremely hammered indeed.

It passed the time. And I wandered home alone at 2 in the morning, a bit low and with a pounding headache due to craply angled lights (and slight hangover since I ran out of cash/alcohol about midnight)...and went to bed at about 4am, having read a large portion of the book I started yesterday.

(The Keep...nazi/vampire novel...damned good too...)

Woke up late this morning...my director rang me...was hoping I didn't have to be in till 2pm...so had to pull some clothes together and get a taxi in...

...to be greeted by a whole cast of kids/teenagers and do a full run through of Act I.

The run through went fine...could have been better, but at least we got through it...and I had a lot of fun with a sword-stick (walking stick that has a sword inside when unscrewed...)...gave an interesting dimension to my character in terms of posture/posturing...but is pointy and sharp and I have to be careful...

Sat downstairs on my own from 1pm onwards...had a phone conversation which left me happier at least...and was then left on door duty with the keys whilst the 2pm lot turned up late and I had to keep letting people in and out til 5pm...but I nearly finished my book...and sat there smoking/thinking etc etc...

Walked home in the rain, lots of fireworks going off, so I was on edge all the way home...but it's good to be in here now, cup of tea, cigarette...

I think I'll go to my room to read this evening...have laundry to do, and cooking also...but then I want an early night of it...so bed by 2am it is...I'm really rather tired at the moment.

I'm getting up tommorrow and going out...see how much cash is left in the bank (if any)...thankfully the 1pm to 6pm rehearsals have been cancelled, so I'm not in till wednesday 1-4 and 6-9...

I shall finish my book and start on another, maybe do some more painting and learn my lines for Act II...lots to be getting on with...need to learn the worm song for Weird Cabaret also...

I need to be involved more with my theatre stuff at the moment...I've not been concentrating and there's lots of it to be doing, so I'm focusing on that to keep me going till christmas...after that...who knows what the new year will bring?? Hopefully good things for myself and everyone I know...

I'm always a bit 'lacking for something to do' when a theatre project ends when I've worked so hard on it...leaves me low sometimes...usual creative temperament really...

But I have to focus on work at the moment...good things come to those who wait so I've heard said;)

*wistful grin*

Anyway...cup of tea required now...maybe some stronger liquid refreshment later...

Take care of yourself, and each other (Springer-esque wink)

VG;)

Dave! Dave!

>let's face it, I am stuck in a city full of 'locals'...
Remember, this is a city where the council vans have the slogan 'Local services for local people' on the side!

Re: Ooooohh

F. Paul Wilson

It's quite a classic...even Robert Bloch (creator of Psycho) commented on it...

Hey, The Keep. The film's rather strange, though I recall liking it. Michael Mann directed it, and it stars Scott Glenn, Ian McKellen, Gabriel Byrne, and Jurgen Prochnow.

Never seen the film...but the end of the book kinda reminded me of the Ganondorf/Ganon encounter at the end of Zelda - Ocarina of Time on the N64 lol!!!

Was fine up until that point...then my videogame brain took over:/
