Wow, the view of the sea and the town from that graveyard is breathtaking. I can imagine it was quite peaceful up there.
You look fab in those pictures too, was everyone equally stylish there?
It was fairly quiet...and was about the only damn place I could get a mobile signal!!
Went up the 199 steps in silly heels and corsetry rofl!!
It was an entertaining mix of grungy-goth, posh goth, tarty goth, cybergoth, victoriana and the downright peculiar - I fit right in!!
Woooo, cleavage! I particularly liked pic #47, very glam :-)
I also liked that one; there's a nice halation. And #6.
Number 6, 7 and 8 were taken by two random tourists, who asked to photograph me as soon as I got to the top of the steps exhausted!!
The halation? Dodgy night-mode camera blur is all;)
Oh gawd, the drunken hussy one;)
I've just put the best ones on vampgirl.co.uk
"Is it the Whitby Gothic Weekend?," he asks, voice quavering with longing.
I just read a Simon Clark short story called "The Whitby Experience," which is quite good. I think you'll like it since it alludes to that place where Stoker stayed for a while. It's available in the anthology called October Dreams.
Ooh...will have to look it up:))
Honestly, I travel 10 hours on the train and spend the weekend saying 'It's just like Cornwall!!'... I felt very at home indeed;)
Refraining, eh? Oh dear! *grin*
Deathboy sort of reminds me of NIN, but a bit more melodic, like The Cure in places...that is a good song!
Honestly, I travel 10 hours on the train and spend the weekend saying 'It's just like Cornwall!!'...
Now, imagine if I had travelled DAYS to go there to wind up saying "It's just like Normandy!!!" - LOL!

damn-it woman! you look H-O-T, HOT! in those pictures!
btw - put something in the post for you yesterday. nothing much. just keep your eyes open for it!
I *was* hot - the weather was terrible - too hot and sunny, and I felt quite dangerously migrainous the whole time...
Ooh...postage!! Your mini-package will be on its way this week...collecting bits of 'local' stuff and piccies;)
You look great, and those photos are really cool! :)
I would love to be able to attend an event like that.
oh -- and do they let people walk up to the ruins?
A place like that would be so much for doing photoshoots.
Those photos only came out looking cool by chance...I was rather snap-happy and thankfully have an Olympus Superzoom that can take a decent shot in a hurry;)
You should come over for the next one in October...you can walk amongst the ruins to get MUCH better photos; just I was on a budget and didn't want to pay the 4 quid to get into the grounds - leant on a wall out the back hehe;)
*looks at Whitby pics with longing*
I spent all my money going to Dark City instead...
Dark City?? Sounds exciting...hopefully won't be as painfully bright and sunny as Whitby was!!
BRING ON OCTOBER!!
Erm... It was about three weeks ago in Edinburgh...
With typical Edinburgh wet miserable weather!
