I drink too much sometimes... [Jul. 11th, 2004|06:00 pm]
Miss Von Trapp
[Mood |sicksick]
[Music |Specimen : Kiss Kiss Bang Bang]

I feel very very ill.

Yes, I went out and got drunk last night - girly night out in an attempt to drown my recent sorrows in drunken illbehaviour...

It worked. Sorta.

missbumpkin collected me at 9pm in the car (which we left at fart_pellet's house) and we went to the Nowhere... There was a band playing (called 'Remember The Alamo' - sadly I can remember fuck all about them lol)...was dead loud and I drank two and a half pints of directors ale on an empty stomach...

Was seriously drunk come eleven pm - we staggered stupidly over to Jakes and had massif spicybeanburger things with salad and cheese... Scroffed them far too fast and staggered our way back up to fart_pellet's house...

Da lads were still involved in a game of Axis vs Allies...looked dead fun (like a more complicated RISK with monopoly money) and I might have a go sometime... so missbumpkin and I had a couple of glasses of red wine and while I watched the rest of the gameplay, missbumpkin went into the other room to do this post:

"Sorry I haven't replied to any posts yet, I am curremtly at the home of the fart-pellet with vampgirl and we is very very tipsy. We is all happy snd giggly and girls kick arse!
Does ou love it bitches?
Yrs you do

Oh dear...

We drank some more, the lads cleared off when the game pretty much reached a stalemate, and we both settled down to watch 'crapheap challenge' - dead good, they'd made proper cannons and were firing at each others walls... and other such random things on cable...

Drank a bit more (finished the bottle off) then ravenously ate some chargrilled bbq flavour dorito things I'd found in a bag nearby... finally fell asleep around 2am after a drunken phone call which I don't remember much about (apologies) and some texts that I DO remember sending...there were more later that I found in the morning and had no recollection of sending whatsoever...

I was very very very drunk indeed, and at approximately half three in the morning, went to the loo and was extremely sick. Exorcist sick down the bowl... And then crawled (ACTUALLY CRAWLED), hair everywhere, topless and still in fishnet stockings, along the landing and back onto the futon...

At some point around 3:40am I sent this text, which I discovered I'd sent when I woke at 11am...

"Omg, i feel
sick TOOmuch bee
andAMsibkh need

Clearly a plea for help... Oops!!

Obviously, I've spent the day dosed up on ibuprofen... missbumpkin and I went to Goodbody's at 3pm when we were finally ready to face the world... Had cheesychipsybeansy - goody goody and a mug of coffee, but couldn't finish them as I was feeling decidedly peaky.

Still am, even after a refreshing walk home, being sick again and then a nice hot bath...

I'm taking it easy from hereon in, meeting missbumpkin at about 8pm tonight to see a film at the arts centre:

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (15)
Dir. Michel Gondry, USA, 2004, 108 mins.
Cast. Kate Winslet, Jim Carey, Kirsten Dunst, Mark Ruffalo.

From the fertile minds of writer Charlie Kaufman (Being John Malkovich, Adaptation) and French music video ace Michel Gondry comes a head-spinning romance unlike anything else you will see all year. Joel (a very un-Jim Carey Jim Carey) discovers that his ex-girlfriend (Winslet) has had her memories of their two-year relationship erased by a revolutionary new process. In retaliation he decides to have her wiped from his memory too; but as his memories are taken from him one by one, he rediscovers what he loved so much and panicking, attempts to escape the procedure. Unfortunately once the process has started it can't be stopped. Flashing with visual creativity and oddball performances, Gondry's direction gives Kaufman's frenzied exploration into the painful certainties of human relationships a shocking immediacy.

"Uniquely funny, unpredictably tender and unapologetically twisted" - Rolling Stone

Hope it doesn't make me snivel...

*treads gingerly away, not wishing to move stomach too suddenly*

ESOTSM is a superb film - have seen it twice now (2nd time at the Arts Centre last night) and it is definitely one that you need to see more than once. I felt quite smug knowing what the beginning was all about while everyone else was wondering what was going on!

aaaaaaw shit.

"And then crawled (ACTUALLY CRAWLED), hair everywhere, topless and still in fishnet stockings, along the landing and back onto the futon..."

y'know this image is now firmly lodged in the "disturbingly erotic" section of my mind.

Re: aaaaaaw shit.

I knew I shouldn't have posted that.

It resides in the 'never again' section of my mind - under a heading entitled 'crackwhore' or 'aging 80's junkie'.

Didn't witness the crawling thing but I did wake up to the dulcet sounds of a woman barfing in the tiolet. Elegance and grace sprang to mind... :-)

ps I think the stalemate statement is not entirely accurate. In fact, I would like to point out that Fletch and I actually won the game [thereby reversing the course of history]. I would also like to point out that we achieved this whilst I was making regular trips to the bowl [and an increasing number of telephone calls to Catherine it seems].

Elegance and grace? More like practical and professional - very bacchanalian...

I do vaguely recall you won - but I also recall that they were holding out to the end and were sort of forced to resign due to the time and state of the table hehe... They didn't have a hope in hell anyway - but it was unpractical to continue the game another day;)

Oh poor Catherine - I do hope you've made it up to her now!!
