I'd imagine it was in reference to the 'flappy bat'...
Bat Burger, anyone?
I don't get the mini skirt/furry boots combo either, and the uni freshers are teaming with it here.
I think it's hideous... At least 50% of the freshers were wearing them...
Those boots aren't even flattering, as they make your lower leg look the same width as your thigh lol!! Tree trunks all the way...
right, and so many of the skirts barely cover their bums. it's so tacky. aren't they cold??? do they think they'll pick up boys this way? they also gather in groups, making high pitched chatter that sounds like woodland animals.
I'll expect they are cold, but it's all a ruse to get fratboys coats off them lol!
Down here, the accent sounds more like a group of seals begging for fish...
sounds like it was a fun/funny nite, shame i missed it, but i had quite a eventful nite myself, see my journal for details..LOL whats goin on next sat nite as i hope to make it down, money allowing..lol
Next weekend I'm off to the Phoenix to see my mate Ralphy play with his band (The DevilRiders), then I'm off to Tramps for the MDC Punk Nite:)
I read your eljay post - eep!! But at least you know where things are now!
oh cool, a punk nite lots of mad jumping around then..lol just hav to remember to keep my shirt on this time..LOL ;) is it live bands or DJ.
what are the devilriders like?
It's Chris Wilsher and Mark McCann dj-ing... A good night all told.
DevilRiders are sort of rockabilly punk... But Ralphy does a mean version of 'Behind The Wheel' by D.Mode:)
oh chris i met last time yeah. we can sort out times and stuff later in the week, once i know if i can come or not, but sounds like it could be a good nite..lol
i read your post.... i didnt know that you could bind s/thing as nebulous as emotions?
it takes a bit of doing, but you can do it, ive done it a few times now very successfully.. though i have been practing the craft for 22 years now..LOL
i shall stick to FPS and retail therapy then.
well thats the quicker way...lol this took 16 hours of preperation, and you have to be very focused..
Students are all wankers first time round. I was. i remember.
it's about the only thing i remember about being a student, though...
I think the same can be said of all of us - I barely remember my A Levels lol... But that had a lot to do with the white substances that went up my nose at the time...
At least I'm on the second/third time round now hehe (I think)...so I'm done with the 'wanker' thing...
"But seriously, at least it wasn't hawaiian shirts and luas (as two people I saw were wearing) or a desperate attempt at looking 'punk' at 18 - half of the hair stuck up in a ridiculous black mohawk and the rest just left normal - not even stuck back or anything - with one of those stupid bags that say 'porn' on the side, green ripped tights and a yucky cotton spotty dress teamed attractively with camo print converse trainers..."
Ah those lovely hipsters!
So hip hip hip and kewl.
It's beat, daddio!!
You'll be moaning about 'the prices in here...', 'what they've done to the town centre is criminal!' and maybe 'call that a skirt???' next.
You're dead right though. A change is comin', the kids won't know what hit them. When oldies attack, or at least wear decent gear.
But, but, but...
I ALREADY AM!!!!
Perhaps I should start a leaflet campaign...followed up by a Whist drive or some such...

Your Growing-Old Checklist
Writing to the local paper.
Having no clue whatsoever about the latest big thing (TV prog, pop star, etc)
Saying "you know, I can't understand a word these young people say".
Rushing home to watch Countdown.

Re: Your Growing-Old Checklist
Writing to the local paper = No, but I've been tempted on occasion...
Coffee Mornings = Yes
Jumble Sales = Yes
Having no clue... = Yes
Saying "you know, I can't understand a word..." = Yes
Rushing home to watch Countdown = Oh yes! Well, not rushing exactly, but it is on after I get home from work, so...
Shall I get me stick and pension book then??
One of those breakdancers has just E mailed our web site to tell us how much they enjoyed the show!
There's still hope for the yunguns...
Hehe... Well you were damn good - it must have inspired them to 'get down' as 'twere;)
That denim skirt/furry boots combo always makes me think of hookers from the 1970s. That particular look was in full swing in London before I left...
Looks like it's only just reached Plymouth - tis always the way lol!!
(bunch of farmers!)
Not sure if you've seen this, but it made me think of you: http://www.chavscum.co.uk/
(Not because you're a chav, but because you told me what chav means!)
I'd like a big shout-out to my posse in NYC - it's bling bling schwing back in ol' England...
Fresh out of Compton I am (Higher Compton - posh area down the road here hehe)
