Excuuuuuuuuuse me, what's wrong with Faith and the Muse !!!!
Nothing really - I'm just being picky;)
The whole thing was an exercise in boredom anyway!
You will not win against the super-elite, but I love the way you're along for the journey :-)
It's 6 x yes, 3 x no atm...
The Jury is still out though - but I'm winning on aggregate...
PLACE YOUR BETS NOW!!!
BANZAI!!
*giggles*
"{{Name at least 3 goth bands.}} - Currently in my launchcast playlist: (not all necessarily understood to be gawth) Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, Fields of the Nephilim, The Birthday Party (not technically), Joy Div. (also not technically), Dead Can Dance, The Bolshoi, Nick Cave (again, moot point), Foetus, Ministry, Siouxsie, Specimen, Diary of Dreams, Xymox, ASF, Danielle Dax, Jesus and Mary Chain, Killing Joke, Love and Rockets, Lydia Lunch, Rosetta Stone (if we're talking SOM clone bands), Lacrimosa, Curve, Diamanda Galas, The Mission (bleh - but I don't listen to them - old SOM snobbery, you understand!), Gene Loves Jezebel, (My Life with the) Thrill Kill Kult, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, Virgin Prunes...
Ok, I got bored - if you want more go here..."
ROFL. CHEERS! I never knew you were as naughty me :) You old Troll you :)
*stompy stompy stomp fnarg*
*me haf big green scales...*
I was also looking at that community and wondering about playing devils advocate with them... (There is a certain character in their that I so know is not what she portrays) So well done :)
Do what thou wilt...
Oh - did I just say that? No, Mr. Crowley (would you ride your white horse - it's symbolic - of course) did.
*covers mouth*
I'm still hoping to get in - if only to teach a few of those snotty SO-NOT-GOTH-BUT-THINK-THEY-ARE yanks a thing or two (or three) about our glorious musical past... And to promote some of the newer proper goth stuff that's going on:)
Oh what larks!
I have so much I want to/could say on the subject, but I just can't be bothered. I'm sure you know what I'm thinking though!
*grin* you do crack me up sometimes, you old elitist 'has-been' cahhhhh!! xxx
I know!!
For their information - PROPER GOTH as a scene and as an ERA has long since died - I'm just a little nostalgic is all.
Goth these days is what has EVOLVED from that - developed into many different aspects, and there can be NO SUCH THING as elitism within any of those fields lol!!
*grins evilly*
I live to make you laugh my dear - I do love my audience:))
xxxxx
I didn't think you were being particularly derogative of Hot Topic, you just mentioned that a lot of Spookies shop there, which seems like a fairly neutral statement of fact to me. Sure, it's boring when everyone gets their clothes the same place, but you weren't exactly saying "all those who use or endorse Hot Topic must hang their heads in shame" or whatever. I've followed links to that comm before and a lot of its members are unduly spiteful, so you're well out of it.
It was an entirely neutral statement - just takes one dumbfuck canadian to get a bee in her bonnet about it lol!!
Must have touched a nerve there, methinks?
*ooh STING*
UK goffs know the score. All the best goth bands hail from the UK, and in my experience UK goths are more relaxed about it all, they don't try so hard. Obviously there are exceptions to all this.
Me and the Goth Elite? Snowball's chance in hell? Blimey, Vampy, you're probably the goffest person I know!
Exactly.
Bring me my chalice, my copious amounts of amphetamine and my Death cigarettes, my dear!!
Ahh - those were the days:)
Well, I should hope the UK goffs know what's goth and what isn't - since we OWN the origin of goth anyway lol!!
Please. When the UK gets more than a handful of decent Goth bands, let me know, OK? Hehe.
Hey you - you *knew* I just couldn't resist a poke...
*hugs*
I'm categorically not counting you in this - honorary brit lol!!
(and there *are* some good goth bands in the US - I'm being a snotty cow for the purposes of fun as per usual... Having said that, there's a WHOLE lot better stuff coming out of Germany atm...)
Ok - how about Killing Miranda or Swarf or Corrosion then? To name but three... You really need to read Mick Mercer more...
*ok, so thump me now*
They are indeed, very silly people. Probably a large proportion of them think that James Ray Gangwar was an eighties rap band that once collaborated with The Beastie Boys. Or that Red Lorry Yellow Lorry was something you were asked to say by a speech therapist at school when you had a peach inspediment....
*sigh*
Well, I notice you're older than kaylin (assuming that's her real age) - I find a flippant "I'm older than you and therefore know better" is very enjoyable to say, if not actually strictly accurate. I think she's threatened because you're just so GAWTH! Anyway, she spells 'theatre' wrong on her interests list. Or something.
I do believe she does feel threatened. Ho hum!
Oh my dear, those abhorrent "ratings" communities remind me of the Corny Collins Show in John Waters Hairspray...basically a sorority / frat house mentality of elitist (not justifiably so) "desperately popular" kids. Sad really, you run pretty purple swirly Gothic circles around them in my book darlin!
Cheers me dear:)
I was bored. Wanted *in*. Nuff said;) (Deleted comment) (Deleted comment)
And I've also hit with my first post...
BAM!!!
I'm up for some heated debate healthy discussion!!
You can read the same post on my own lj btw...
