I GOT AN A- !!!
For something that was cobbled together at the last minute (in fact, overdue) and was the first creative essay I've written since 1992, I'm pretty damn chuffed!!
What let me down was perhaps the odd grammatical/conventional essay error - and the fact that I was 170 words over (after editing - was actually 370ish words over on first draft)... I'd have liked to have expounded on a few points and also added a whole lot of others, but then the whole thing would have ended up at about 3k words instead of the 1500 that was the maximum lol!!
Either way, the tutor put 'Excellent reading' as one of his comments - so it's all good...
Now just the next lot to be dealing with lol!!
Why 'A Hard Day's Night' can be used as an example of 1960's youth culture alongside Kes and A Clockwork Orange is beyond me, but thats next on the syllabus...
I'd have rather studied it (culture-wise) along with Alfie or Quadrophenia...
Or 'pop-world' wise with Summer Holiday, The Great Rock'n'Roll Swindle and even Spice World... For all their cringe-worthiness, there can be some interesting comparisons made amongst these.
Ho hum. But I'm not writing the course, am I?
On and on and onto the next one...
"Hi, my name is VampGirl and I'm a caffeine addict"
*sits down, looks in bottom of empty coffee mug*
"Damn, Caffeine Amnesia"
*puts on kettle*
Oh shit!!! These are the ones most applicable...
You know from experience caffeine tablets don't dissolve in cola.
You're shaking like Michael Jackson on his wedding night.
You think sleep is for the weak.
You regard the fact that your hands are shaking as a good sign
You go to sleep just to wake up and smell the coffee.
Your coffee pot is next to your bed and your alarm clock is in the kitchen.
The dishes in your house are all coffee cups.
It's 6:09 AM and you're on your 2nd 20oz. cup of coffee.
You have to drink some form of caffeinated beverage just to sleep.
(this is so true)
You'd rather be beaten over the head with a sledgehammer than give up that first cup of coffee in the morning.
You actually get these jokes and pass them on to other friends who are addicted to caffeine.
