All work and no play... [Oct. 13th, 2006|01:32 pm]
Miss Von Trapp
[Location |work]

Well, that's a bit of a lie. I seem to be doing a lot of both at the moment!

I've been in DutyObs all week - that mostly means I've been recording pages and pages of stats/spreadsheet figures every hour and running round like a loon moving teams about at work.

I'm also busy with moosick projects - Strung Out Folk have another gig next Thursday down at Acoustic Cafe, playing after ten pm as I have to peg it up the hill from work.

Last weeks gig (I think it was last week - so much has been going on!) went down a treat so we're going back for more! It would have been a smidgen better if I'd remembered to rosin my bow sometime in the last month or so - as I was only able to get a note out of the very end of the thing - was so hot down there that I couldn't get it to grip the strings! - but overall, was okay. Have given the cello an overdue spring-clean and rosined both my bows so next thurs will be fine lol!

Mike has been gigging and teaching left right and centre with rehearsals inbetween - take a look at his myspace profile: here! and he's even auditioning for a band I used to be a bit of a groupie for back in the late 80's *look of shame* who are reforming perhaps with a gig at the Plymouth Pavilions.... Oh the horror!

Strung Out Folk's page is here! and you can see Mike's other bands (ghost and eye/blue angel) on his friends list. My page is here.

In other news, we have a new door in the flat with a cat flap.

Cassidy stayed out all night because she doesn't understand how to use it!

And my parents have moved house and had to sell the grand piano because it takes up three quarters of the living room - they've bought an upright to teach on instead.

Ho hum. Gotta log in and do some work!!

vampyre article

Hi Vampgirl,

I tried sending you a message yesterday but I'm not sure if it worked. Anyway.

I am the Features Editor for the University of California at Davis (UC Davis) campus/community newspaper in the U.S. We are doing an article for Halloween on modern day vampyres, attempting to raise awareness about modern day vampyres' rights and lifestyles. I found your website and thought that you might be able to provide some helpful information about being a vampyre. I can either send you questions or speak with you via phone. I can call you if you'd like so you don't have to call long distance, though if you would prefer to call me, my office number is (530) 752-9884. If I am not in, it would be great if you left a message for me.

Thanks so much in advance. I hope to hear from you soon.

Elise Kane

P.S. You can visit the newspaper's website at www.californiaaggie.com
P.P.S. If you would rather refer me to someone you know who is a vampyre and would be willing to speak with me, that would be great as well!
